Anya hugs Giles a lot.
…because she’s in love with him.
I wonder if it’s a genuine romantic love, or more of a crush-on-a-father-figure thing. Not that I can’t see G/A. I ship it like it’s my job, but in canon, I’ve always been a bit iffy on the nature of her feelings for him.
Well, maybe not love, but IMO she definitely had romantic feelings towards him, even on a subconscious level. Their body language around each other just always seemed so couple-y to me, they’re always standing so close and hugging so tightly.
