Day 28 - OTP With The Best Canon Story
Aeryn Sun and John Crichton - Farscape
Okay, I’ve talked about these two a couple times, but they are absolutely the best example of a romantic relationship done right in narrative. I know this because I have zero desire to read fic for them. Canon did it right to the point that I don’t need or want another story told about them. Their story was told within the framework of the show. There is not a single other pairing that I can think of that did this (barring the first entrant on this list, Whitley and Dwayne from A Different World.)
Aeryn and John’s story is beyond extraordinary. Not just because it was well written (it was), but because it was fucking daring. These two broke each other several times, and in some of the most dramatic ways possible. But they also loved. They were affectionate and vulnerable and committed. They’re both flawed people and their relationship was big and messy and hard and brilliant.

By far the stupidest criticism of the new Thor is ‘no where in Norse mythology is Thor a woman, stop messing with mythology.’
