   The individual I got this from assured me that the treasure it describes is here on earth. Now, I could have come by ship and looked for it myself…

   Hubby insists that they made Shanks grow his beard so people wouldn’t confuse him with Browder at first glance…at least until people were used to them sharing the stage.  I dunno about that considering Shanks’ penchant for scruffy, but it’s an interesting idea.

   Actually, you’re both right in a way. The producers wanted there to be SOME concrete way for the audience to be able to tell them apart (despite the fact that the majority of the Stargate audience are pretty damn smart and would probably be able to do it anyways). Michael was like ‘well, I’m not growing my hair out again’…so you got the beard. 

   True story.
